Extra Añejo or Ultra-Aged Tequilas

Utra-aged or Extra Añejo tequila has been aged for a period of at least three years, without specifying the aging time in the label, in direct contact with the wood of oak (holm or holm oak) or Encino oak containers with a maximum capacity of 600 liters. Its commercial alcohol content must be adjusted by dilution water. The tequilas shown in this section are part of the newest classification of tequila as shown detailed in the October 28, 2005 meeeting of the National Committee on Standardization.

The tequilas shown on this page have been aged for three years or longer but may not show on the label as Ultra-aged or Extra Añejo tequila. This page will be revised as the newly classified tequilas are introduced to the marketplace and the labels are changed. The labels are not required to show the words Extra Añejo although the tequila may in fact be aged for enough time for the class. Click on images for larger views of bottles.
