The 2002 edition box was designed by a Mexican artist, Louiz Zarate. He was born in Santa Catarina Cuanana, a little town in Tlaxiaco, Oazaca in 1951.
The theme of the design was "Tinta Savia y Espinas", meaning ink, sap and thorns. Icons and images on the wooden box represent the history and family heritage of the Jose Cuervo brand.
This ultra-premium bottle of tequila is sold at prices from $89 to $120 in the United States.
