Every year the Cuervo family commissions a different Mexican artist to design the new collectible box for Jose Cuervo Reserva de la Familia.
Emiliano Gironella Parra is a young artist who blends contemporary art with his Mexican roots: the rituals of tequila, bullfights, cockfights and mariachis.
All of these images are reflected on the 2001 Reserva box entitled, “Bulls, Cocks, Mariachis and Tequila.”
Parra studied sculpture, engraving and photography at the Interlochen Arts Academy.
He has displayed works at the National Museum of Popular Cultures in Mexico City, the Reader’s Circle Cultural Center in Madrid, The National Museum of Engraving in Mexico City, among other prestigious art institutions.
